What an amazing week! On Jan. 16-17, we were invited to exhibit our solutions at Oracle Open World in London. This is the first time that Open World happens in the UK, so we were thrilled to be a part of this first edition, as well as having the great opportunity to represent the Oracle Global Startup Ecosystem. The focus of the event was definitely the future, and how to capture novel competitive advantages today!
The last few years online visibility has become more important for all businesses. The .eu Web Awards are organised to support and acknowledge some of the best websites with an .eu extension. Since 2014 companies are able to enter this competition with a chance to win marketing possibilities, such as a promo video for their website or 2 months of billboard advertisement at Brussels airport. From the nomination of the awards until the announcement of the winners, a lot of publicity was made for this events on social media.
Macty attended the 2018 edition of WebSummit in Lisbon. This international event welcomed some of the largest companies in the world, together with startups and influential publicists. Some of the impressive speakers at this conference include the co-founder of Slack, the president of Microsoft Corporation and founders of now-leading startups such as Twitch. The speakers touched different subjects like climate change, consumer behaviour, but also more corresponding to our startup: artificial intelligence and the fashion industry.
On October 17 and 18 Macty attended Digital First in Brussels. This is one of the main B2B events to learn more about the digital industry. Different startups involved in artificial intelligence, deep learning, digital marketing and so on gathered together in the Startup Lab to inform visitors about their causes. Established companies such as Oracle, a partner of ours, were also present on this event. Digital First organized different talks concerning evolutionary digital trends.
From 9 until 11 October we attended the GPU Technology Conference by Nvidia in Munich, which was a great fit with our startup because of their focus on artificial intelligence. Our booth was surrounded with AI startups. Many had different business objectives compared to ours but shared the same goal of showcasing our emerging technologies. A very interesting aspect of this event was that robotics and artificial intelligence were discussed by a pool of very different companies like Google, Mercedes, Zalando.
From 27 until the 30th of September Supernova took place in Antwerpen. The first edition of this technology festival was immediately a success. The first 2 days of this event were filled with a conference of modern leaders who shared their thoughts about the future, and pitching sessions, introducing promising technology companies. In addition, Supernova also hosted a tech fair and interactive workshops, enabling visitors to experience how scientists see our future.
On 27th of June the Digital Intelligence Summit brought data science experts together on this business event in Brussels, also titled as “AI Demystified” hence the match with Macty. This conference included speakers talking about the impact of AI on their company, how AI and data analysis can be managed, how AI is used for applications and so on. Our founder, Susana gave a lightning talk on how to use deep learning for fashion searches and how to enhance customer conversion rate.
